As we prepare for Earth Day, you may feel compelled to try something new to save the planet. Sure, you’re already doing your part by separating glass from plastics from aluminum cans. But what else can be done?

Broadcom CEO: Talking Mobile and More at Ignition West Conference

Broadcom CEO Scott McGregor covered a lot of ground in a brief 20-minute panel discussion at the IgnitionWest Conference in San Francisco today. Patent Board Ranks Broadcom #2 Innovator in Semiconductor Industry

Broadcom was ranked second on The Patent Board’s quarterly semiconductor industry scorecard, a two-place jump from last quarter that surpassed both Intel and IBM, which previously held the top spot.  Samsung placed first in the most recent report.

Broadcom also was awarded the second-highest “technology strength” rating by The Patent Board out of the 50 ranked semiconductor companies, a measure of overall strength of a company’s patent portfolio factoring in both quality and quantity.

Broadcom Completes NetLogic Acquisition

Earlier today Broadcom wrapped up its $3.7 billion acquisition of NetLogic Microsystems, a leader in high performance intelligent semiconductor solutions for next generation networks.
