A teenage boy’s instinctive love for souped-up cars often leads to a career working under-the-hood.  But for 14-year-old Raymond Gilmartin of South Pasadena, Calif., an inquisitive curiosity about automotive design could be sending him down a path toward an engineering career instead.

At an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., tonight, Raymond was named the Grand Prize winner of the 2012 Broadcom MASTERS® science fair competition. It was his interest in automotive design and the curiosity around rear spoilers that elevated …

They are actually just a few of the innovative research topics presented at Broadcom Foundation’s inaugural University Research Competition.

Broadcom Foundation invited 12 student finalists and their professors from universities receiving unrestricted research grants from the Foundation to present their work in a poster session during the opening reception of Broadcom’s annual Technical Conference June …

Broadcom MASTERS®: Future Innovators Team to Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math

Do you remember your first science project and the pride that came with presenting your findings? Even better, were you able to connect with other like-minded kids at your science fair?

Igniting a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) among middle school students is an important mission of the Broadcom Foundation. If students are encouraged to explore science and math at this pivotal age, chances are greater that they will stay with these subjects in high school …

Experiment with After School Program Creates Budding Scientists

Middle school children from two Southern California school districts were able to unleash their inner Einsteins and participate in a regional science fair thanks to a new pilot program funded by Broadcom Foundation.

Broadcom Foundation contributed more than $80,000 in grants to provide project-based science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning for underprivileged middle school students in the after-school space. The foundation led a coordinated initiative with THINK Together, one of California’s largest providers of extended day learning programs, …
